Why we started
Booking a cleaner used to mean phone tag, word-of-mouth, and just hoping the person who turns up is who they said they'd be. We thought that wasn't good enough, especially for people who don't want to gamble on a stranger having keys to their home.
So we built Hygeia around two simple ideas: every cleaner should be properly checked before they ever take a job, and booking one should be simple enough for absolutely anyone to do it themselves, first time, with no help. That includes people in their 70s and 80s who've never booked anything on a phone before, which is exactly who we design for first.
